Internet and Monotony
A peaceful morning of the holiday, a mother wakes up and cheers with joy “Wow ! Today is a holiday. Let’s plan some entertainment for today”. Children are so happy with recreational activities. Mother takes her children to the supermarket and buys them pretty and cute clothes and dolls. They are very entertaining while playing games in the fun park. The holiday was awesome. Mother was so glad to see her children so excited. The whole day package of fun, lunch, and everything were awesome. The next day, she went to work and the children were busy with their school activities.
Look, the monotonous routine is however broken down. The whole family is getting precious and quality time and have memorable interaction. But I wonder about today’s society and familial conditions, and many vigorous changes that occurred after social media entered our home.
Let’s stare at some moments.
A peaceful morning of the holiday; mother wakes up and starts scrolling through social media while preparing tea and some snacks. Children are sleeping as they slept tonight at 1 AM after an hours-long Livestream of Minecraft. Mother whispers, “Oh! God, they are literally so tired.” Again, she is busy with her activities. Suddenly, she saw a new post about her favorite actor on Instagram. She unstoppably took a glance at 200 new posts on Instagram with unstoppable typing of comments. Her fingers seemed like they were crawling on the mobile screen.
Exactly at 9 AM, the eldest son wakes up and asks for breakfast. He is busy with his stuff, chatting with friends, and playing free fire for some moments. Mother prepares doughnuts and serves him in his bed. He had breakfast alone watching an episode of his favorite Netflix series. He enjoyed some of the vlogs on youtube. He is feeling cool in his own flow.
At 9: 30, her younger son wakes up. He is busy with Minecraft and having long conversations with friends. Mother served some milk with cornflakes. He too is busy with his own stuff.
They had afternoon lunch in the same way. The lonely entertainment is however not sustainable as time spent with parents and friends.
As we look at the scenario, it’s becoming more common in families, even at family gatherings. We observe such monotony inside social media. Not only children, but such monotony has also attacked parents and professionals too. Such circumstances are creating a far distance between family members. Children feel discomfort while expressing their inner thoughts. Parents couldn’t take proper care of their children. The only thing is arising continuously with a peaking speed, that’s monotony and only monotony. In the online world of today’s context, people, especially youths are more prone to be addicted to the internet.
See, the Internet is the largest source of knowledge humans have ever discovered with such easy access to utilize. We can’t deny the sophisticated life provided by such technological advancement. Rather we need to focus on how to get rid of the misuse and addiction it is creating upon us.
Yesterday, the moonlight was one of the ways parents used to silent their crying children. And now, it is converted to a mobile screen light. We see such a huge difference in the circumstance that a moonlight brings and the screen light brings.
There might be another million causes to diverted mind, disturbing feelings, intraversion in children but social media and the internet have become one of the leading causes. Scientists have explained the perspective more clearly by terming it as “Digital Drug”
This weapon is more widespread in our minds nowadays. The disturbed physical development, the distracted mind could kill the innovative power of the new generation. Let’s observe a scenario of how we can mitigate it.
“The morning is so bright.”
Mother and children wake up together early. In the crystal fresh environment, all begin performing yoga and some exercise. After exercise, they have breakfast together with talks and a friendly environment. Afterwards, children concentrate on their studies, school works, other creative works and mother concentrates on her work. They have separated a time table to scroll social media, chat and entertain through the internet. Wow, such a hilarious and managed routine!
I hope everyone, including me, can pass the trap of such transient euphoria and return to the innovative environment of a healthy mind.
“Hail the Internet!”
